Fun place to stay with lots of history. Some things in the room could use an update but it's kinda what to expect from a historic, gold rush hotel. One thing I didn't like was you had to lock the door from the inside using a key. (No regular lock). But there was a fridge and fireplace, a microwave, and water dispenser right outside our door. The guy who checked us in was very nice. We were doing the Paranormal Preston Castle tour and Rail Explorers, so the location was very convenient.
My first contact was with Mack who was very accommodating / flexible with the dates I wanted to stay at the hotel. My second contact was Alejandro who greeted me with open arms. Made sure my room was ready and comfortable. He was always available for any questions. Rooms are clean and the bed is like sleeping on a cloud. The hotel is an experience in itself - your imagination will take you back to the gold rush days. Last but NOT LEAST - this hotel is connected to one of the BEST family restaurants I have ever been to. Burke Family Restaurant has the best SERVICE and FOOD you will ever experience. Plus - meet Dennis at the piano in the bar, what a guy. He can manage those ivories like Beethoven and is accompanied by one of the best saxophone players ever. Stay at the Ione Hotel and enjoy Ione - best experience ever. Toby
I was there for a work lunch and it was so amazing! Food was beyond delicious and staff was friendly and made sure the group of us 30+ were very well cared for! I will return with my family thank you!!
Burke's Family Restaurant is one of my favorite places to eat. The charming decor is only surpassed by the excellent service. The food is reasonably priced and well prepared.
What a fun old place! Alex, the hotel staff as well as the saloon and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was yummy and there was a very entertaining guitarists playing at the saloon. We lost a necklace at some point but didn't notice until late the night after we left. My wife called Alex and he got up to go check for it. What a good guy!
Didn't sleep here. Just had dinner at Burke's Family Restaurant. It was excellent. Very generous portions of tasty food. Their risotto is out of this world.

I can't comment on rooms as we are locals and have not stayed. We love the restaurant!! The staff is amazing and food is excellent. The bar is super cool since in the Ione hotel which is over 100 years old.
